Hear the recorded drum across an organic hand-percussion performance.
Djembe is a focused free instrument built from a real 10-inch mahogany djembe for quickly adding organic hand percussion to a track.
Six articulations cover bass, open and slap tones together with flam, mute and roll. Four velocity layers and five round robins add natural variation as you play repeated hits and rhythmic parts.
Shape the recording with a simple three-source mixer: the direct membrane signal, the resonator microphone and a stereo room pair. Add built-in reverb when you need more space, then move on with the arrangement.
Start with the hand-percussion groove, add acoustic strumming around it, then give every part its own place in the mix.
