About EVA Instruments

We make tools for people who make music.

EVA Instruments is a small independent team building virtual instruments and audio effects for musicians, producers, composers and sound designers.

We started with a simple idea: good music software shouldn’t have to be complicated, and it shouldn’t have to cost hundreds of dollars.

There are incredible tools in the audio world, but too often the best ones are priced for established professionals and studios. We want useful, serious music software to be accessible to more people — including independent producers, students and someone making their first tracks with a limited budget.

Because making music should be the expensive part in time, ideas and obsession — not necessarily in software.

Built around real problems

We don’t want to make products just to make the catalogue bigger.

Most EVA instruments and effects begin with a very simple question:

Is there a real production problem here that could be solved better?

Sometimes the answer becomes a detailed sampled instrument. Sometimes it becomes a plug-in with one control.

We like tools that get out of the way. If something normally requires a long chain of processors, too much setup or constant tweaking, we start wondering whether the same musical result could be made faster and more intuitive.

That doesn’t mean removing control for the sake of simplicity. It means deciding which controls actually matter.

Small team, short distance

We’re a small team, and we consider that an advantage.

There aren’t several layers of departments between the person using an EVA product and the people building it. Feedback, support questions and strange ideas from users regularly make their way directly into development.

It also means we can experiment.

Not every product has to fit an existing category. Some of the ideas we find most interesting start with a production problem that doesn’t yet have an obvious tool built specifically for it.

And when something can be improved, we’d rather update it than pretend the first version was perfect.

Accessible doesn’t mean disposable

Keeping our products reasonably priced is important to us.

It does not mean building throwaway software, cutting corners on sound or abandoning products after release.

Updates to existing EVA products are provided to licensed users without an additional update fee. We want people to be able to buy a tool, keep using it and come back years later without feeling as though every improvement has turned into another purchase.

New generations that become genuinely separate products may be released separately, but normal product development and updates are part of owning the product.

The music is still yours

We build tools to make certain jobs easier, faster or more inspiring.

They are not supposed to replace taste, decisions or musicianship.

A good plug-in can help put a sound farther away, bring a performance closer, make a source feel larger, build a rhythm or give you an instrument you didn’t have before.

What happens after that is the interesting part.

That belongs to the person making the music.

We’re always open to good ideas

Some of the best product ideas begin with a very simple question:

Why doesn’t this exist yet?

If you’re a producer, sound designer, musician, developer, educator or simply someone who spends a lot of time making music, we’d like to hear from you.

Maybe you have an idea for a collaboration. Maybe you’ve found a production problem that nobody has solved particularly well. Maybe there’s a plug-in or instrument you keep wishing existed.

Tell us about it.

We can’t promise that every idea becomes a product, but we genuinely like hearing what people are missing from their current tools.

Have an idea or want to collaborate?
