The KONTAKT sampler is distributed with two types of licenses.
KONTAKT Player is a free version, but very limited in functionality. The main limitation is the inability to use libraries that are not specifically licensed for the free version of the sampler, and there are an overwhelming number of such libraries.
KONTAKT Full is a full version of the sampler, which has full functionality and supports any libraries. All our libraries are also created exclusively for the full version of KONTAKT.
Libraries that are developed for Kontakt Full do not require authorization via Native Access. That is why these libraries do not come with a Native Access serial number.
Unlike Kontakt Player libraries that can be opened via the Library tab in Kontakt, you use Kontakt’s “Files” browser to load patches.
1. Launch your KONTAKT (standalone) or load an instance of your KONTAKT in your sequencer (plug-in).
2. On the KONTAKT interface, click on the NI logo located at the top right corner of your screen.
3. When the “About” window displays, verify the “License Type” located on the top left corner.
In the example – License Type: Full
This happens when you unzip the tool kit and then move the folder to a new location and it means that Kontakt is unable to to find the corresponding samples. This is very easy to fix though! Simply follow these steps to “Batch re-save” the library:
